Casio CTK-720
$130.00
Released May, 2008
The Pros:Built-in song bank easy enough for a child to go through. Built-in tutorials are well designed, teach effectively. Sound is beautiful, high definition samples are easy on the ears, can be played at very low volume and still be clearly heard.
The Cons:MIDI interface with Windows 7 isn't supported. Doesn't include the power adapter, need to either buy one externally or feed it batteries.
The Casio CTK-720 is a basic keyboard with a 61-key layout for casual players. This is similar to the Casio CTK-496, but features refinements such as a 32-note polyphony and 242 built-in tones.

General MIDI support through a USB port is also included. Similar to the previous model background rhythms are built in, and an internal memory of 100 songs is available. The keyboard is able to transpose and perform tuning in order to hit the precise range desired. Dual speakers are built into the keyboard, eliminating the need for an external system, and a microphone input enables a singer to provide accompaniment.
