Fender Thurston Moore Jazzmaster

$1,880.00 Released June, 2009

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Includes a free Sonic Youth sticker sheet. Looks great - features a dark, stylish design. Includes a solid, hard shell carrying case.

The Cons:Misleading lifetime warranty - pickups, switches, jacks, controls and all other electronic components aren't covered for more than 1 year. Only available in one finish.

The Thurston Moore is a high-end custom Jazzmaster model by Fender. As the title implies, this Jazzmaster is modelled after the specs of Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore. Fender promotes the Thurston Moore model (as well as its closely-related cousin, the Lee Ranaldo model) as a stripped-down guitar with grunge-style tone.

The two Seymour Duncan Antiquity II pickups will help this Jazzmaster to intensify distortion and utilize feedback. The Adjusto-Matic bridge is a useful feature for players who like to fine tune their action, which can be an important issue with a tremolo-equipped guitar. The lock button on the American Vintage Jazzmaster tremolo will help the guitar to stay in tune even when you are laying on the whammy bar. A Sonic Youth sticker sheet is included with the Thurston Moore Jazzmaster.
