Gibson Hummingbird Custom KOA

The Gibson Hummingbird Custom KOA is a mid-grade acoustic guitar that combines the basic features of the original 1960 Hummingbird model and the work of Luthier Ren Ferguson.  The Hummingbird Custom KOA features gold Grover mother of pearl keystone tuners with a gear ratio of 14:1.

The peg-head logo is a custom designed and hand-crafted inlay of three in-flight hummingbirds carved from abalone and mother of pearl. This peg-head logo is exclusive to the Hummingbird Custom KOA and is not used in other Gibson acoustic guitar models.

The Hummingbird Custom KOA features an ebony fingerboard with rolled-edges and orpheum-style abalone inlays.  The rosette is a double-ring equipped with a seven-ply binding main ring and a second ring of three-ply binding and an abalone filled middle. The square-shoulder dreadnought body design has a top made of a AAA-grade sitka spruce wood finish while the back and sides are constructed from a highly figured Koa. The bracing inside the body of the Hummingbird Custom KOA is a single "X" pattern which is mainly existent for loyalty to the traditional Hummingbird design.
