Gibson Hummingbird

The Gibson Hummingbird is a mid-grade acoustic guitar which was originally introduced in 1960 as Gibson's first square-shoulder dreadnought guitar. The most current Hummingbird model is built to the same specs and standards of the original model.

The Hummingbird has nickel grover roto-matic tuners with a gear ratio of 14:1 and all moving parts that are cut with exact meshing.

The Hummingbird features a high grade rosewood fingerboard with rolled edges and a split parallelogram mother of pearl inlay. The square-shoulder dreadnought body has a top constructed from a AAA-grade sitka spruce wood finish and the back and sides are made of mahogany. The Hummingbird has an element active acoustic pick up system from L.R. Baggs with a low profile under-saddle element and an on-board preamp. The rosette of the Hummingbird has a double ring with a seven-ply binding main ring and a three-ply binding on the second ring. As with all of the acoustic guitars from Gibson, the bracing is hand-scalloped. A single "X" bracing pattern is used inside the body of the Hummingbird Acoustic Guitar as more of a traditional inclusion.
