Gibson John Lennon J-160E Peace

The Gibson John Lennon J-160E Peace Acoustic Guitar is a recreation of the instrument played by John Lennon in 1969. Featuring the same round shoulder body design the J-160E Peace of today sports nickel Gotoh pearloid keystone button tuners with a gear ratio of 15:1 while all moving parts are cut for exact meshing.

The John Lennon J-160E Peace is produced in cooperation with Yoko Ono.

The John Lennon J-160E Peace is equipped with the Gibson P-90 Pickup system mounted between the base of the neck and edge of the sound hole controlled by one volume and one tone knob. The rosewood fingerboard of the J-160E Peace features a rolled edge design and genuine mother of pearl trapezoid inlays. The guitar sports the tapered dovetail neck joint design which is one of the oldest methods of joining the neck to the body of the guitar.  The process done entirely by hand allows the body and neck to become one solid piece of resonating wood without metal to interfere with vibration. The round-shoulder body design of the John Lennon J-160E Peace guitar has a top constructed of AA-grade Sitka spruce while the back and sides are of mahogany. The hand crafted rosette is a single-ring with three-ply binding. The bracing of the John Lennon J-160E Peace features hand scalloped ladder bracing just as the original models of the early 1960s did. The top braces run parallel to themselves, from treble to base side.
