16-track high-definition audio recording is available through a host of built-in sample sets and wide variety of external device support, with simultaneous recording capabilities of up to four tracks at a time and an internal storage bank of 40 gigabytes. 16-track MIDI sequencing is also available, with sufficient space for up to 400,000 MIDI notes and a total of 16 user-customizable song templates. An integrated CD drive enables users to burn completed song files as well as upload external software synth applications, with dedicated USB 2.0 output for simplistic computer connectivity. Four distinct synthesis engines are included with the OASYS that include a high-definition PCM device (HD-1), an analog synth modeller (AL-1), a Tonewheel organ (CX-3) and a plucked string model (STR-1). Through the interactive TouchView display, users can control wave-shaping, phase modulation and sample playback in a classic hands-on style while enjoying modern reliability. For effects processing, the OASYS offers 12 Inserts with 2 Master and 2 Total effects channels, with 185 algorithms included for a virtually limitless selection of processing options. 32 3-band graphic EQs are available for additional parametric control, while Korg's own KARMA 2.1 software provides users with over 1,500 Generated Effects options.
