Marshall MG101FX

$700.00 Released January, 2010

Product Shot 1The Marshall MG101FX is a mid cost 100 watt combo guitar amp. Like the entire MG series of amps, Marshall promotes the MG101FX as offering digital features with a classic analogue tone. Like the entire MG line, there are four channels on the MG101FX: Regular input, Foot controller, Headphone/line out, and MP3/line in (for playing along to MP3s).

The MG footcontroller allows you to change tones from clean to distortion on the fly. The emulated headphone jack of the MG101FX allows you to hear yourself playing through headphones while the amp itself stops making noise. This feature is ideal for night time practicing. The 2010 Marshall MG101FX is an updating of previous models in that it has a Frequency Dependent Dampening (FDD) switch, which gives the sound of this amplifier depth, and mimics the classic tone of Marshall's all-tube amplifiers. The on-board digital effects (chorus/phaser/flanger/delay) are also a new feature. You can have one of these effects on at the same time as the digital reverb effect. This amp is a step down from the lower cost MG100HFX in that it has a Custom 12" speaker, whereas the MG100HFX has no speakers of its own, and needs to be plugged into a cabinet. However, the MG101FX lacks the flagship MG102FX's pair of Custom 12" speakers. The MG101FX comes in a black color.
