This is a key feature for players using the Martin DC-15E for shows, as the electronics deliver clear acoustic sound this is as acoustic as an amplified guitar can be. Being able to forget about miking an acoustic live is definitely a big plus. Beyond that, the features here are pretty much the same as all the guitars in Martin's 15 series. A construction with 14 frets clear of the body means that players can rip out their acoustic solos and not worry about getting caught up by the heel. Being that this is an acoustic with a country flavor, this feature is also useful to slide players who need the high frets so that can hit the licks. The satin finish lends this guitar a classic look, which should appeal to a variety of folk, country and blues players. A guitar that you can take with you to a picnic as well as the stage is certainly rare. Though the reviews of the 15 series in general have been positive, there have not been any reviews of the DC-15E in particular.
