Numark OMNI CONTROL

$549.00 Released April, 2009

Product Shot 1 The Pros:Solid build construction resists physical damage during transportation. Good value alternative for beginner DJs instead of paying much more for a full setup. Easy to get started mixing music right out of the box.

The Cons:Plastic knobs and buttons feel a bit flimsy to touch. Packaged software is dated and some features (pitch shifting and loop length) are limited. Upgrading software leads to mapping errors that have to be fixed manually.

The Numark OMNI CONTROL is a hardware controller built to work with DJ software. Included with the controller is Native Instruments Traktor LE and MixMeister Fusion Live, but if users have their own DJ and MIDI software it is often compatible.

Dual stereo RCA outputs can be used for monitors and sound systems, and a microphone input is also available. The design follows a heavy and sturdy philosophy, which is reflected in the steel housing and firm knobs, faders and buttons. Audio is processed on an integrated sound card for complete digital processing, reducing the possibility of distortion. MIDI over USB is supported, allowing this to be a controller for a MIDI device.
