This mixer can handle two turntables and two CD players at the same time, or four CD players if you are not a fan of vinyl. Both program buses of the MP 2S can select any of the four inputs, which means that any input can go on either side of the crossfader, giving you more mixing options (though not as many as the closely related MP 44, which has four input buses instead of two program buses with four inputs). Each program bus also has its own bass/treble EQ, which allows you to be precise with your tone. Program bus A and B each have their own Cue Engage feature, so that you can get music ready to go with either bus. Rane promotes the 60mm Active Crossfader as being noise-free and long-lasting. The Rane MP 2S has much in common with the higher level MP 44, but is lacking features such as FlexFX (for controlling external effects), gain trim and 3-band tone controls.
