The housing consists of a steel-mesh grille to cut pops and wind, a shock-suspended capsule to reduce handling noises, and a hum-bucking coil to help eliminate noise from interference. An additional pop filter allows vocalists to sing directly into the microphone without having to be mindful of their breath. The magnetic reed on/off switch is recessed in the handle, and is built to be noiseless when toggled.
