Similar to other Shure microphones, the Cardioid polar pattern picks up most sound from in front of the microphone and a bit from the sides. Since drummers need it, the rugged coil of the microphone is designed to handle high volume levels and the cartridge includes a neodymium magnet for a high output level. The PG52 microphone is also packaged with a 15ft cable and a storage bag.
