The Pros:Ideal for a wide range of acoustic instruments, picks up all the right frequencies. Directional enough to ensure that you can use it in a live setting and not have interferrence. Captures a crisp sound ideal for high-hats and cymbals.
The Cons:Tends to pick up noise through the mic stand, gets the occasional thud. So sensitive its easy to pick up things you don't intend to, like your breathing or movements of the instrument.
The Shure PG81 is a condenser microphone ideal for lighter, acoustic instruments. Different than most Shure microphones, the PG81 has a flat frequency that's wide and uniform and produces consistent sensitivity through frequency range.
