The Pros:Nice sturdy metal construction. Good componets used IE proper controls for volume ETC, and inserts for Mic's and quarter inch for guitars ETC. Phantom power for powered mic's.
The Cons:Vista won't shut down when the US-122 is connected to machine. Vista driver added Oct 07, after very long wait for driver doesn't seem to work properly as machine keeps blue screening with the driver loaded. I agree with the one guy: Vista won't shut down when connected to the computer.
If you want to form a bridge between your music and your computer, there's a new solution that combines affordability and ease-of-use with powerful capabilities and excellent built-in compatibility with your computer: the US-122 from TASCAM and Frontier Design Group.

The US-122 features two XLR-based, phantom-powered mic inputs.
As one of the only small computer interfaces with analog inserts, you can use the US-122 to place hardware devices (compressors, etc.) into the recording signal chain. Two line-level inputs on balanced 1/4" TRS jacks are included, and are switchable to guitar-level for direct instrument recording into your computer. The US-122 also provides a dedicated control for adjustable zero-latency direct monitoring, providing a sonically pure reference point before entering DAW processing. Its two line-level outputs provide control for levels, and a dedicated headphone output is also included. Replaced by the Tascam US-122L.

#tascam_us_122 Another user has pointed out that Tascam told him that the drivers will be available in May. Sorry for third-hand info.

#tascam_us_122 Hey ewdespault - I have the US 122, and man would I love to get my hands on some vista drivers. Could you do us all a favor and somehow raise some stink with Tascam about this?

#tascam_us_122 Caution! This product has no drivers currently available for Windows Vista, and Tascam operational support has been unresponsive about this issue.
