For beginning players, the Yamaha Education Suite offers easy, hands-on learning, with 3 different lesson modes, a progress monitor, a chord dictionary, and a Performance Assistant that ensures a player of any skill level can reach the end of a song. An LCD screen displays all these things and more, auto scrolling through sheet music and lyrics for any of the 100 built-in songs, with more availabe for download via the USB to HOST, USB to DEVICE, and MIDI connectivity. The sound features are where the differences between the DGX-530 and DGX-630 are most noticeable--while a 2-way stereo speaker system with Bass Boost and Digital Effects technology still carries the sound, it has been upgraded to 64-note polyphony with 16 part multi trimbel for playing more notes at once. 3 voices have been added to the library for a total of 503 (including 130 panel voices, 12 drum/SFX kits, and 361 XGlite voices). Like its predecessor, the DGX-630 includes a matching stand and headphones but lacks a warranty, A Survival Kit packaged with a 2 year extended warranty and other exclusives is available.
